Testosterone propionate, like testosterone enanthate and testosterone cypionate, is a testosterone molecule to which an ester has been attached in order to make the testosterone last longer in the body. Unesterified testosterone only has a very short half-life in the body. In order to achieve a stable testosterone level on the basis of non-esterified testosterone, it is necessary to make an injection 1-2 times a day.
When esterifying testosterone, a depot effect is achieved, so that the body must first remove the ester attached to the testosterone molecule before it can process the testosterone. The body needs more or less long for this process - depending on the molecule. Thus, most of the injected testosterone is initially available as inactive testosterone ester in the body. An even level is achieved through the continuous release of testosterone.
Since the propionate ester is significantly shorter than e.g. the enanthate or cypionate ester, the body can process the propionate ester faster. In practice, this means that the time of action of testosterone propionate, at around 4 days, is significantly shorter than the time of action of longer testosterone esters such as testosterone enanthate and testosterone cypionate.
In practice, the anabolic androgenic steroid (AAS) testosterone propionate is used during both mass building and dieting.
Application / dosage:
The testosterone propionate dosages observed in bodybuilding are mostly in the range of 50-200 mg every 1-2 days. Due to its short half-life, testosterone propionate is injected at short intervals of 1 to 2 days.
While building mass, bodybuilders like to combine testosterone propionate with other so-called “mass steroids” such as methandienone / methandrostenolone, oxymetholone or trenbolone.
Due to its strong anti-catabolic effect, testosterone propionate is often used in diets to counteract muscle breakdown.
Women who use testosterone propionate usually take dosages between 50 and 100 mg / week.
